According to the Sharks official twitter feed, prop Julian Redelinghuys will be out of action for between 3 and 4 months.

As we reported on Saturday, the former Monument and SA Schools tight head suffered an ankle dislocation against the Kings on Friday night. Sharks doctor Ewoudt van der Linde has confirmed the bad news; Redelinghuys will require an operation to correct the damage and will miss a considerable chunk of the season as a result.

In a separate report, coach John Plumtree has confirmed that the Sharks are definitely “looking for a prop” to fill the gap.

We’d like to again wish Julian all the best for a speedy recovery and take great comfort in the fact that Monnas boys heal faster than anyone else…

  • All the best Julian, get back out there soon!

  • Sjeees! It seems that whenever we get hit by injuries and players leaving, that it always happen in the same spot. Three props in very short space of time – reminiscent of our flyhalf crisis a couple of seasons back.

Maybe now would be a good time to approach a good NH SA prop. Pity that the ones that come to mind are all tightheads – BJ, Mujati…
