After an up and down first round of Super Rugby action we have our first leaders in the Fantasy League competition over on www.justrugby.net, as well as on our Superbru log. And for those that are still alive in the Last Man Standing competition, well done!
In the Fantasy League competition, it was a reasonably low scoring round with very few tries scored in the seven matches, and the kickers generally raking in most of the points. Our leader after round is Groot Leeu, who managed 446 points including his 50 point MVP bonus, beating 7’s se Staatmakers to the bonus by a mere 6 points, who is in second spot on 389-50.
The top five is rounded out by Super dream team (385-50 points), Danman XV (377-25 points) and Argentines (376-50 points).
The top scorer for the round was the record breaking Elton Jantjies, who managed nine penalties and 24 points for whoever had him in their team. Tyler Blyendaal from the Crusaders was a close second on 23 points. Beauden Barrett from the Hurricanes and Michael Harris from the Reds each managed 22 points with Chris Noakes (Highlanders) rounding out the top five scorers.
In the Last Man Standing competition, we lost 14 players due to non selection. A further 33 lifelines were lost with the Chiefs, Sharks and Cheetahs losing to claim quite a few of those all important lifelines.
Over on Superbru, we have our first yellow cap winner, and a bit of a local as well as Beet takes the early spoils. He is joint leader on 9 points, but as a result of his smaller margin difference, is stated as number one. Joining him on 9 points is Groenie.
Monster finished in third spot on 8.33 points, followed closely by Chaz in fourth spot on 7.75 points. There is then a big bunch stuck on 7.5 points, as listed below.

im in 77th .. would have been better if i selected a Sharks team it seems … Or a Lions team for that matter 😛 dont think i had one starting player in a winning team ..
I had a solid first round, with only one injury, and stuck in 35th spot..
Could have been much worse..
sharks not winning cost me badly, had banked on Lions, stormers and sharks to win, so starting 15 were all one of those three, at least I had Elton as my captain!
