Guildford not first choice anymore

All Black winger Zac Guildford has served his four match ban after his drunken antics late last year, and is now eligible to play for the Crusaders in their match against the Highlanders this weekend.

Guildford though, after missing the Crusaders’ pre-season matches and the match against the Blues last weekend, might have to wait before making an impact this season, after the coach, Todd Blackadder, has not made it clear whether the wing will walk straight back into the team.

The match against the Blues saw Israel Dagg play out of position on the wing, with Tom Marshall doing duty at fullback. It was also Dagg who saved the game for the Crusaders after charging down a drop goal attempt, so it leaves the coach with plenty of options come selection day.

The Crusaders take on the Highlanders on Saturday, and will play the first Super Rugby match at the new Forsyth Barr indoor stadium.
