According to reports in New Zealand, Sonny Bill Williams will quit union rugby to play league again next year.

A friend of a friend of some league super star’s uncle told the website that Williams will be back with the Roosters from next year, with the only detail still to sort out being his boxing hobby.

Williams walked out of his previous league contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs, and a clause in his contract stipulated that he may not represent another NRL club until 2013.

  • Should probably mention, the Otago rugby union is being liquidated later this week.

Looks like the once Mighty Otago will not be playing ITM Cup this year. A real shame.

  • Him and league are suited to each other. Helluva player in league but not so much in union. imo.

The hype has died down very quickly since his debut last year ..especially in NZ.

  • I enjoyed his style and he showed up a lot of defensive errors in several teams in the midfield – until he met the Cheetahs!! πŸ™‚
