Where is Poisy these days?
@Ben (Comment 4) :
I chat to him via email, shame the guy is busy working and studying..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 5) : That sucks. All for the greater good and I’m sure he’ll reap the rewards in the future.
@Ben (Comment 6) :
Yup..
In the meantime, we need more School Rugby enthusiasts on the site!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 7) : Wish I stayed in Natal Rich. School rugby isn’t so big up here.
@Ben (Comment 8) :
I just can’t get to everything, to be honest.
Some weekends I wish I could split myself in three to get everywhere, but its just too much..
Good work Poisy. Keep it up. 🙂
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 9) : I can imagine.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 9) : I’m making a point of attending the Easter festival in Bryanston. Looking forward to that. Anyone else going?
@Ben (Comment 12) :
Hopefully someone is reading and will join you..
I am in the process of getting someone to give summaries of results from the rugby week hosted in Vryheid, but it difficult to get anyone to commit.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 13) : When will that be? Oh yes and where in SA is Vryheid? 😆
@Ben (Comment 14) :
That will be over the Easter weekends and in the school holidays coming next month.
Where exactly it is, I have no idea..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 15) : Which one you think is best to go to in Jhb? The one at KES or at St Sthians?
@Ben (Comment 16) :
I wouldn’t have a clue..
I can ask around for you and let you know.
Can I can count on a feedback article 😉 ?
@Ben (Comment 14) :
Vryheid is about 120km from Newcastle. Between Newcastle and Richardsbay.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 17) : Article is no problem. I just need to find out which schools are gonna be at which one and then go to the one with the most interesting schools.
@Pokkel (Comment 18) :
So… Kinda in the middle of nowhere really?
@Pokkel (Comment 18) : Thanks.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 20) : Exactly! 😆
@Ben (Comment 19) :
I’ll see what I can find for you..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 22) : Much appreciated.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 20) : @Ben (Comment 21) :
I spend 6 years of my life in Vryheid ( 7-13 year old). Great town to grow up in and Pionier is a great rugby school.
@Ben (Comment 23) :
The following schools will be at the KES festival:
Banca Monte Paschi Rugby Viadana, Diocesan College (Bishops), Golden Lions Development, Hoër Landbouskool Marlow, Hoërskool Eldoraigne, Hoërskool Lichtenburg, Jeppe High School for Boys, King Edward VII School, Pretoria Boys’ High School, St Alban’s College, St Andrew’s College, St Benedict’s College.
I’m planning to go to the Easter festival at Kersney, big schools attending this year Greys Bloem, Affies, Monument, EG Jansen, Dale, Queens, Glenwood,Paarl Gymnasium and Paul Roos
@Ben (Comment 19) : All the Jozi Festivals are good. The KES Festival has an amazing atmosphere making it that little bit more attractive. In terms of schools participating, there is a misconception that the better the schools, the better the festival. Not true! Really all you need are schools with boys who play for pride for 70min and organisers who are able to match teams accd to strength to prevent 1-sided results.
@Sharksmad – The Blog’s Dudette (Comment 26) :
All the schools taking part at Kearney:
Afrikaans Hoërskool (Affies), Dale College, Dr EG Jansen, Glenwood, Grey College (Bloemfontein), Monument, Paarl Gim, Paul Roos, Queen’s College, Selborne College, Westville, Kearsney College.
@beet (Comment 27) : also the KES Festival is right across the road from the St Johns one, so you can walk from one school to the other at will.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 25) : Thanks. Know who will be at St Sthians yet?
@beet (Comment 27) : @beet (Comment 29) : Thanks for the tips Beet. So will you be joining me then? 😉
@Ben (Comment 30) :
The site where I found the KES one doesn’t have the St Stithians teams up as yet.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 32) : Oh thanks. Which site is it if I may ask?
@Ben (Comment 33) :
Its called Ougrote , if you wanna have a look
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 34) : Thanks a million.
@Ben (Comment 31) : you can hook up with Muzi. He’s always at the Jozi festivals. He’s a bit of a talent scout so you’ll be in good company.
@beet (Comment 36) : That’s a great idea. Will ask him when I see him one here again.
@beet (Comment 36) :
He is awfully quiet after a Bulls victory?!
@Sharksmad – The Blog’s Dudette (Comment 26) : Kearnsey Festival is the top festival in the country considering the schools involved. Top schoolboy flyhalf talent on display this year
@slammerboy, agreed Kearsney and Wildeklawer are the best based on strengths of sides and watching potential future boks! Wish I could be at Botha Hill for the tourno. Someone needs to video record it and put it on vimeo!
@Grasshopper (Comment 40) :
@slammerboy (Comment 39) :
Will you guys be at any of the tournaments this year?
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 41) : Wish i could but no wont be there. I think Ludz may be going
@slammerboy (Comment 42) :
I am quite keen to meet a couple of guys who are interested in the school rugby personally, and this might be the ideal opportunity..
@Richard ferguson, I am a fanatical school rugga blogger! Beet is too. I am obviously biased towards Glenwood but follow all schools. Does anyone know the Pukke Skouspel fixtures?
@Grasshopper (Comment 44) :
I tried looking, but can only find individual fixtures, not a list..
Cool, do u know who Glenwood are playing? I am thinking Outeniqua and Rustenberg or Framesby?
@Grasshopper (Comment 46) :
As soon as I know, I will post an article with all the fixtures..
