Westenr Province and the Stormers today confirmed the retention of four key young players, up until the end of 2015.
Props Steven Kitshoff and Frans Malherbe, lock Eben Etzebeth and loose forward Siya Kolisi will all remain with the Cape side for the next three seasons, as was earlier predicted. All four were impressive for their side in Saturday’s narrow win over the Sharks.
Province has come under fire in the recent past for neglecting their own youth in favour of expensive marquee signings; examples being the departure of Johann Sadie, JJ Engelbrecht and Tim Whitehead.

Woohoo!
This calls for the dance of joy!
I read an article somewhere today (please don’t ask me where, was a hectic day) that said ‘WPRFU finaly keeping youngsters at home’. WP and Cheetahs are always the first to point out this and that player is a Greys/Paarl Gym, Matie/Shimlas old boy, and often refer to Province B (Bulls) or Cheetahs B (Sharks). Just for intrests sake, how many of those 4 matriculated in the WP area?
3,only Kolisi from Grey in PE,the rest all played Craven Week for WP in 2009,Kitshoff also played in 2010
@Die Kriek (Comment 2) :
Kolisi went to Grey High PE.
Steven Kitshoff – Paul Roos
Frans Malherbe – Paarl Boys’ High
Eben Etzebeth – Tygerberg High… I think.
Kolisi made 18 tackles against the Sharks. 😯 next highest were Coetzee (13) and Bismarck (12), next highest Stormer was Jean D Villiers at 11.
Impressive stuff.
