The Bulls have announced their team to take on the Blues on Saturday night, with only one change to the run on side that comprehensively beat the Cheetahs last weekend. With the suspension of Francois Hougaard, Jano Vermaak will get his first start for the Bulls.

Ruan Snyman will come onto the bench to cover the scrumhalf position.

Vermaak will play in his 75th Super Rugby match after accumulating 73 caps with the Lions before moving to the Pretoria based franchise last year.

Wynand Olivier will continue in the 13 jersey outside Francois Venter, and will face up to Rene Ranger in a battle of the outside centre’s.

Bulls: 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 Wynand Olivier, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 Pierre Spies (captain), 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 Deon Stegmann, 5 Juandré Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Dean Greyling

Substitutes: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 19 CJ Stander, 20 Ruan Snyman, 21 Louis Fouché, 22 JJ Engelbrecht

  • This will be a big test for my bulletjies the blues are a great team full of game breakers everywhere.

Jano is a great talent he will not let the team down.

Sure Akona is solid but i still can not believe it that super fast J-J Engelbrecht can not start everytime he touches the ball he looks good.

Hope the two props have learnt how do friggin bind properly greyling the number 1 culprit. 🙄

    Glad Kaino is injured phew.

  • @Muzi (Comment 7) : The beauty of the new conference system. Always support the teams who plays against the teams in your conference. Oh yes, there is also the little factor that I support any team that plays against the Bulls! 😆

  • I hope the Bulls stuff up the Blues. And hope Chilliboy has an absolute cracker. He has dominated Bismarck, Adriaan and now faces up against Kevin. Will go a long way to putting a marker for the green and gold… I rate Chilliboy. Ranger is a threat, Piri Weepu should be a prop, so all once again depends on forwards dominance. 9/10 axis is a problem for Blues.

  • @Zibbie (Comment 8) : Anthony Faingaa, Kaino, Francois Hougaard, Lelia Masaga…Sam Whitelock benched, Wyatt Crockett benched.

I’m in need of serious hugs from the girlfriend and commiseration from Sharksworld 🙁
