Interested in everything, committed to nothing

So I see Jake White has, within the space of about three days, denied interested in, declared interest in and then (for the time being) ruled himself out of contention for the vacant England coaching job.

One has to wander what his paymasters at the Brumbies think about this situation and whether they’re now seriously starting to question his commitment to the “long term rebuilding process” that he’s embarked on in Canberra. Even more telling, though, will be the way his players react reading a completely different story in each morning’s press regarding whether their coach will still be with them in a few months’ time.

Come on, Jake… if you commit yourself to something, then stick to it. And if you can’t, be honest about it. Right now, you’re simply losing credibility with everybody.

  • Awesome coach, but unabashedly self-serving.
