Brumbies flyhalf Matt Toomua looks set to miss out on the next month of Super Rugby action after picking up a knee injury against the Cheetahs last week.
The 21-year-old pivot, who made a few appearance for Western Province as a teenager in the 2010 Currie Cup, sustained medial ligament damage early on in the game, but opted to play through the pain and looks set to suffer the consequences of that decision through a four-week lay-off.
His place at flyhalf is likely to be filled by current inside centre Christian Leiliafano, with Pat McCabe earmarked to play 12 against the Chiefs – and the formidable Sonny Bill Williams – this weekend. McCabe has himself just returned to action after a serious knee injury sustained at last year’s World Cup and played on the wing against the Cheetahs.
Winger Tevita Kuridrani is expected to come in for McCabe when Jake White confrims his line up later in the week.

I think this actually makes them stronger. Leiliafano is the better of the 2 IMO.
Just checking out LMS for round 4, Bulls, Lions and Saders all have a bye, yet they’re there and the Waratahs who don’t, aren’t?
@The Quirk (Comment 2) : it’s up to you to avoid picking the teams who have a bye. Have you already picked the Tahs?
@robdylan (Comment 3) : Matt To’omua played for WP in 2009 not 2010, the same year Chris Jack turned out for them. he displaced Conrad Hoffman as deputy to Peter Grant.
@The Quirk (Comment 2) : Your problem sounds as simple as not understanding tha game.
Once you’ve picked a team they are no longer available to pick again for the season.
You need to pick one team per round to win and can only pick each team once.
You have the option to pick a “bye” if you don’t want to risk a lifeline when you feel no game has a clear enough winner. You can use a bye 3 times.
@KSA Shark © (Comment 5) : Ah thanks… Ja, i didn’t know you couldn’t pick a team twice…
Some nice double negatives right there…
@The Quirk (Comment 6) : That’s what makes it so interesting 🙂
@KSA Shark © (Comment 8) :
ATM im doing better in LMS then FL .. cant i trade a LMS life for about 4 trades somewhere 😛
@Megatron (Comment 4) : at the age of 18?
@Zibbie (Comment 9) : Somewhere maybe but not here. 😆
@robdylan (Comment 10) : I’m not sure of his age but it WAS 2009 in the CC. He is listed as being in their squad for 2009 on the SARU website.
@robdylan (Comment 10) : matt to’omua was born in 1990, he was 19 yrs old when rassie got him to agree to come to SA…get your facts straight 😀 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 12) :
ill sell it on the black market . look out for my cousin from Mexico , Eibbiz 😈
@Zibbie (Comment 14) : 😆
