Having lost three flyhalves to injury, Reds coach Ewen McKenzie has been forced to name the inexperienced Dallan Murphy in the number 10 jersey for this weekend’s clash against the Bulls.

In further changes to the backline, Jono Lance comes in at outside centre, with Ben Tapuai moving inside to replace the injured Mike Harris. With Digby Ioane handed a 5-week suspension for a spear tackle against the Sharks, Luke Morahan comes into the starting fifteen in the number 11 jersey.

Rotational changes up front see Greg Holmes, Saia Faingaa and Rob Simmons all elevated to the starting line up,with James Hanson, James Slipper and Van Humphries making way.

Reds: 15 Rod Davies, 14 Dom Shipperley, 13 Jono Lance, 12 Ben Tapuai, 11 Luke Morahan, 10 Dallan Murphy, 9 Will Genia, 8 Jake Schatz, 7 Beau Robinson, 6 Scott Higginbotham, 5 James Horwill (capt), 4 Rob Simmons, 3 Greg Holmes, 2 Saia Faingaa, 1 Ben Daley.

  • Clever… Tapuai has played 10 before, Genia will take the pressure off by kicking out of hand more… Still, 4th choice flyhalf vs Bulls at home is a tough ask…
