The Stormers team to face the Lions this weekend has remained unchanged from the team that did duty against the Blues last weekend, with coach Allister Coetzee opting to go for continuity.
The Stormers played well in their victory over the Blues last weekend, and will hope to take that form to Ellis Park, where they face a Lions team coming off a bye, and struggling somewhat with a few injuries.
Stormers: 15. Joe Pietersen , 14. Gio Aplon , 13. Juan de Jongh , 12. Jean De Villiers (C) , 11. Bryan Habana , 10. Peter Grant , 9. Dewaldt Duvenage , 8. Nick Koster , 7. Duane Vermeulen , 6. Siya Kolisi , 5. Andries Bekker (VC) , 4. Eben Etzebeth , 3. Brok Harris , 2. Tiaan Liebenberg , 1. Steven Kitshoff
Reserves: , 16. Scarra Ntubeni , 17. Frans Malherbe , 18. De Kock Steenkamp , 19. Nizaam Carr , 20. Louis Schreuder , 21. Gary van Aswegen , 22. Gerhard van den Heever

So Gerhard van den Heever moves to a new union just to get 3min game time every game?
At the Bulls he used to play the whole 80. This must be disappointing for him.
The Stormers should win this one easy, from last year the Lions are without JC, CJ, Maku, Wickus, Rhodes, Jantjies and Hollenbach, while the Stormers are without Burger, the got Bekker, Vermeulen and Grant back
@Mutley (Comment 2) : Should being the opperative word. When playing at the coke tin anything is possible. But it is a very big should.
Why isn’t Elstadt playing? The guy is a brilliant player! Hope he comes back soon! I think he and Etsebeth are Bok stars in the making. Hope they prove me right!
@ChrisS (Comment 4) : Etsebeth is playing very well and still very young. It makes me very excited to see all the young guys coming through the ranks.
@ChrisS (Comment 4) : Etsebeth is in such good form at the moment I think Allister wants Elstadt to gain some match fitness in the VC before moving him to the bench.
@Mutley (Comment 2) : I guess it`s too much to hope for a Lions victory here.
Remember we need the Stormers to start losing somewhere along the line so we can catch up to them. We haven`t got an away victory yet, gonna be very difficult to catch them if they don`t start losing soon . . .
@Letgo (Comment 1) :
Hi Letgo. As far as I recall he was very much out of favour during the last year or so.
They played him at fullback a few times while Kirchner was with the Boks but other than that he was mostly on the bench.
@wpw (Comment 7) :
I think he is just kak when compared to Aplon, Habana and Pietersen
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 8) :
Hehe
He aint no world beater but I think he is a bit better than Jantjes.
If he can get back to the form he had when he just started out I’ll be more than happy! 😉
@wpw (Comment 9) : I suspect he was one of those emerging players that ended up suffering from his own hype. He used to be deadly on the counter-attack. Hope he gets that back.
