Round five of the Super Rugby campaign has come and gone, with the games becoming more and more difficult to pick – and form fluctuating wildly. Head on over to www.justrugby.net to see where you finished up after the round.
It was Mr Bones’ “Killers” who took the honours in Fantasy League this week, scoring 547.5 points, including the 50-point MVP bonus. Our old friend Diablo came in second with 480.25 points – I dare say courtesy of the many Bulls players in her team – with another Bull-heavy side, Bertram Bulle, coming in third on 480.
Kompos Cowboys is now our overall leader, with 1888 points after 5 rounds, followed by Mr Bones and his Killers on 1843. Bokkie’s aptly-named “Dream XV” is a bit further back, in third place with 1754 points. Richard Ferguson is the best-placed of the Sharksworld authors, in 18th position.
While the Bulls did well as a team this week, no one player really stood out for them and while Jacques Potgieter and Morne Steyn do both feature in the top 5 points scorers for the round, it’s the Tahs’ Brendan McKibbin (little sod) who tops the points scoring this week, with 29. Conrad Smith is second with 27.5, while Jospeh Tomane joins the pair of Bulls in completing the top 5.
Canes flyhalf Beauden Barrett still tops the overall points scoring chart, with 87 points after 5 rounds. South African flyhalves Morne Steyn (72) , Johan Goosen (68) and Pat Lambie (67) are hot on his heels, with rookie Canes halfback TJ Perenara holding on to 5th place by virtue of his try hat-trick back in round 3.
In last Man Standing, we now have only 32 teams left alive (with a lifeline), while 44 further outfits are still alive, but have lost their safety net. The majority of the casualties last week came as a result of the Highlanders losing (7 picks) while a smattering lost money on the Sharks, Blues and Force as well. Amazingly, nobody was brave enough to go with the Cheetahs against the Crusaders!
Until next week, good luck with the next round, remember to update those starting fifteens and get your LMS pick in, in time.

Hoping to break into the top twenty this coming week!

@StevieS (Comment 16) : Ok, too late π
@Die Kriek (Comment 13) : I forgot to put in picks in one of the rounds and it ended up being one of my best. It’s a solid strategy!
@Franshark (Comment 15) : Wow! So a 10 spot climb since I last checked!
@vanmartin (Comment 19) : Seems it has happened to me too, luckily I have a very good mix in my team, so byes dont hurt too much (plus it helps me stay away from the trade button)
So for round 6 I have:
1 suspension π
4 injured π₯
1 bye π
20 starting π
4 benching π
@JarsonX (Comment 21) : And 7 trades left π
