The Hurricanes team to face the Cheetahs in the latter’s final 2012 tour match has been named and features three changes to the starting side that recorded a narrow away win over the Blues in round 5.

Impressive open side flank Karl Lowe, who played two storming seasons in 2009 and 2010, but spent all of last year in rehab after a nasty knee injury, returns for his first start in nearly two years. He’s joined by James Broadhurst and Charlie Ngatai, who come into the starting XV for the first time this season. Broadhurst starts at 4, displacing Jeremy Thrush, whie it’s Jack Lam who makes way for Lowe in the number 7 jersey. Lam will play off the bench this week, while Thrush is missing from the 22 entirely.

Ngatai comes in at inside centre for Tim Bateman, who is out this week. The number 22 jersey worn by Ngatai last week goes to Jayden Hayward.

Update in a late change, Victor Vito has been ruled out and will be replaced at number 8 by Brad Shields

Hurricanes: 15 Andre Taylor, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith (captain), 12 Charlie Ngatai, 11 Julian Savea, 10 Beauden Barrett, 9 TJ Perenara, 8 Brad Shields, 7 Karl Lowe, 6 Faifili Levave, 5 Jason Eaton, 4 James Broadhurst, 3 Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Tristan Moran.
Replacements: 16 Motu Matu’u, 17 Michael Bent, 18 Mark Reddish, 19 Jack Lam, 20 Chris Eaton, 21 Daniel Kirkpatrick, 22 Jayden Hayward.
