Brumbies flyhalf Matt Toomua has been ruled out of rugby for the rest of the Super Rugby season, after suffering a cruciate ligament rupture against the Sharks on Saturday.
The unfortunate Toomua was ruled out earlier in the season thanks to an injury to the same knee and coach Jake White has conceded that he may have been brought back into the side too quickly after that knock, resulting in Saturday’s far more serious injury. The joint appeared to give way while Toomua was attempting a change of direction early in the second half of the match in Canberra, which his side went on to lose 26-29.
Chrsitian Lealiifano will once again become the Brumbies’ first-choice flyhalf in Toomua’s absence, and we wish the latter well in his recovery.

That must be so disheartening for the player. Good luck with the recovery Matt!
