Reality Rugby Interview – You choose the interviewee and ask the questions.
Dear Sharksworld Readers
With the Super season now in full swing – Sharksworld is hoping to bring you just a bit closer to the action in what is a new Sharksworld venture.
What we are proposing this week is a predetermined Post-match interview with a player – as voted on by you the Sharksworld Readership.
You also get the chance to pose the questions to your interviewee of choice.
The game that we propose to do it on is this weekend’s Top-of-the-table clash between the Highlanders v Stormers in Dunedin.
With me being at the match and wearing my Sharksworld hat I could attempt to corner your player of choice and ask him the questions you most want answered post-match.
If you request the player you would most like interviewed and some questions that you would like me to put to him then I will do my level best to get it organised.
However, as many of you will be aware sometimes getting any player post-match can be difficult (especially after they have just lost), so with that in mind it may be best to have your top three and that way we may have a back-up target.
This is a venture into the unknown for Sharksworld and who knows how it will work or even if we can pull it off – however if you do not push the boundaries you never find out.
I hope you enjoy the initiative – and let’s see if it works.
So post your interview requests and questions on the thread below and we will do our best game-day!
Yours in Rugby
HH

Great idea HH! Good luck with the interview!
My question would be: how do you rate your team’s chances after 7 rounds
Who to ask, either Andrew Hore or Juan de Jongh would get my vote
Howzit HH
This is a fantastic idea!
I’d like to ask the Highlanders coach which of the New Zealand or South African conference he thinks is tougher.. And whether they have the team to finish top of the NZ conference..
Eben Etzebeth, does he like surfing and wouldn`t he enjoy the warmer waters of Natal . . . 😈
Superb idea, HH! I have two possible questions. The first, to be asked of any grizzled forward of your choice, who has been through a few campaigns and played against most players in Superugby is: “Who, in each conference, do you think is the hardest bastard currently playing?”
The second question is for Andries Bekker. It is: “Do you think the inspirational message you had tattooed on your back is best described as tacky or kitch?” 😈
Etzebeth.
With him bursting onto the scene and making it very clear that he is not afrain of being physical. Does he see himslef as the next Bakkies Botha?
@Original Pierre (Comment 3) : I both second and third this. Alternatively (and I’m being serious), if you can corner any Stormers player except Gio Aplon and ask them who they think would win in a fight between Aplon and Lambie I’d love to hear their answer!
@Culling Song (Comment 4) : 2nd question – both??
@vanmartin (Comment 6) : Aplon is from the Flats and Lambie went to private school.
The Highlanders coach or senior players like Thompson – what would you attribute to the turnaround of the Highlanders fortunes this year after a few very mediocre years?
Thanks for the feedback so far guys.
Eben Etzebeth looks a front-runner at this stage….
….keep the suggestions coming!
HH
@Hertford Highlander (Comment 10) : If Etzebeth gets the nod, I agree with Pierre’s question (comment 3)
@lostfish (Comment 8) : Aplon is from Hawston, the headquarters for illegal perlemoem (abalone) harvesting and distribution.
@lostfish (Comment 8) : So you’re also backing Lambie. What convinced you? In my case it was Spud. That book opened my eyes to the rigours of life in a private school.
@Salmonoid (Comment 12) : just as bad then
@lostfish (Comment 8) : Aplon is not from the flats, he is from Hawston, he may not be able to fight but I bet he can make a kwaai snoek braai
@Salmonoid (Comment 12) : WEll that too
Kitshoff – Whats does it feel like being a 20 yr old prop being seen as making his stamp on the competition/ What was Matt Proudfoot saying as the forwards were leaving the changeroom after halftime last week.
Peter Grant – How does he feel having divided loyalties between 2 teams, isnt he exhausted coming from one campaign straight into Super Rugby
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 16) : They bring them up to be quick and nippy in Hawston.
Im suddenly so lus for a piece of braaied snoek.
I hear they have run out of snoek in Cape Town.
@Salmonoid (Comment 18) : No dude theres plenty, its just going to cost you about R170, same for yellowtail.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 19) : Yikes, luckily Easter only comes around once a year.
@Salmonoid (Comment 20) : For sure, luckily i have no problem with hake
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 19) : Vi SNOEK???
@Ice (Comment 22) : Vir ‘n snoek ekse
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 21) : Speaking of fish, where can one get the best fish and chips in Cpt.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 23) : Flippit, dan is ‘n perlemoentjie seker buite di kwessie…
@vanmartin (Comment 13) : No idea what Spud is. I was getting at that Lambie is mild mannered and Aplon has street smarts.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 15) : My bad, I thought it was the flats.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 23) : I thought they just raised the Snoek prices to teach the Valies a lesson for invading us every easter . . . 😈
@Original Pierre (Comment 28) : and a where were u born and raised…? 🙄
@Salmonoid (Comment 24) : That is something we could chat about all day.
@Ice (Comment 25) : Absolutely zero chance…well unless you know someone from Hawston 🙂
@Ice (Comment 29) : Hartenbos . . .
@lostfish (Comment 26) : And I was getting at the fact that both are considered absolute gentleman by their teammates, hence the thought of them being involved in a fight would probably be considered outrageous and hopefully hilarious.
@Salmonoid (Comment 24) : Don’t believe any of the guide books; they’ll tell you Snoekies in Hout Baai is *the* place, but it really isn’t
@Original Pierre (Comment 31) : Lucky man!
@Culling Song (Comment 33) : Hahaha it used to be really good but last time I had it was long ago.
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 35) : I made the trip to Snoekies in 2010, spurred on by all the touristy hype. It was good, but not great, and I’m sure not the best Cape Town has to offer.
@Culling Song (Comment 36) : The best fish and chips I ever had was in Saldanha bay, in CT itself it all depends who you ask, it could b Texies, Plumstead Fisheries, Luisitana etc
@Culling Song (Comment 36) :
Porto’s still make the best chips in the world! 😀
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 37) : @Salmonoid (Comment 24) : @Pokkel (Comment 38) : we can make up a packet for the cape boys to try, but with the holidays coming up and the what what’s the fish will be eating the chips by the time they receive it;)
Reading all of that I am craving fish and chips… it’s not available in France 🙁 we do get some amazing coquille Saint Jacques here though.
Hmmmm CHIPS!
Hope you could squeeze in a question to the TMO…why allow one team the benefit of the doubt and not the other? And a question to the Ref…why do you ask such KAK questions when it comes to asking the TMO’s decision?? Dom poepol. That last part you can say is compliments from me..
@Ice (Comment 42) : Oh sorry….wrong game, but next time…
