Let’s have a look at the statistics and milestones of the Sharks team named to face the Blues.

Jacques Botes is edging ever closer to the magical century of caps in this competition and is sure to earn a 95th cap when he makes his appearance off the bench. Steven Sykes will earn his 60th cap for the Sharks in this competition as well. Craig Burden gets his 30th cap, while Meyer Bosman and Fred Michalak will earn their 25th and 20th respectively if they get off the bench.

Good luck to Kyle Cooper, looking to make his debut in Super Rugby if he gets a run off the bench.

JP Pietersen’s try last week has extended his record of tries scored in this competition to 28, while Riaan Viljoen is still the top season try-scorer with 4. The return of Pat Lambie to the side sees him against the highest points scorer, both this season (59) and in his career (261).

  • I do hope Cooper gets onto the field, it will be a great achievement for him..

I doubt he will see much game time once the Sharks return home, if Bismarck’s injury is of a short term nature..
