Week eight of Super Rugby action gets underway with the Blues hosting the Sharks in Auckland, with both teams coming off losses in the previous round and desperate to climb up the log with a good win today.

The Blues went down, surprisingly, to the Rebels last weekend, and have only won 1 of their 6 games so far this season, a record that will have most Blues fans rather irate. This week has seen speculation of Coach Pat Lam leaving, but the players have backed him, and will be looking for a good performance today to show they have what it takes to make an impression this season.

The Sharks are on their way home after this match, and will be looking forward to the comforts of Kings park after what has been a very tough tour, losing key players such as Odwa Ndungane and more recently Bismarck du Plessis. They do have Pat Lambie back in the all important ten jersey, and we should see an improved backline, but it is amongst the forwards where the game was lost last weekend, and the senior guys will have to step up if they are to catch the two top South African teams in the Bulls and Stormers.

Do I ignore updates during the game and watch it later as if it is live or do I save myself the pain and just follow the updates and watch the game later with no stress? πŸ™„ ❓

Will this be the end of that incredible run?

What do you suggest? If they win it will be exciting to watch later and if they lose you can watch the game rustig.

If I ignore the updates I also can’t go on Facebook or any news sites for the whole day. No radio and no talking to friends.

It’s going to be hard to keep that info out.

  • I am not so convinced with the JP at 13 experiment. It is working nicely on attack, but his tackling technique is not great for a 13. He goes into the tackle way to upright

  • @GreatSharksays (Comment 303) : No dude, it was mostly below par for a Super rugby team. I’m glad we won but we don’t look slick, our defence sucks and if it wasn’t for 2 intercepts and a lucky knock-on try we would have lost the game big time.

  • @Bokhoring (Comment 301) : And that will improve as he gets game time. For a guy who has been holding tackle bags all year he is doing bloody well as a S15 quality hooker. Even the Kiwis have been impressed with him since he started last week.

  • Well done Sharks. Don’t care how we played as long as we won, with a bonus point too, so for now just damn pleased for our boys.

We need to step it up against the Chiefs next Saturday.

Damn stressful way to start the weekend….haha. Really pleased it will be back to normal hours for us watching our Sharks from next week.

Read in the papers this morning that Beast will be training with the team from Monday. Good news that.
