Allister Coetzee has announced his squad to take on the Reds at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.Allister Coetzee can not be a happy man, not only did his team record there first loss of the season on Saturday he has had to reshuffle his backline, his lock pairing and name his 3rd captain for this campaign.

Jean De Villiers , captain in the absence of regular skipper Schalk Burger has now been ruled out after injuring tendons in his hand and this sees Duane Vermeulen elevated to captain for this fixture , a role he may hold onto until Schalk returns mid may.

Juan de Jongh shifts over one place to inside centre and Bryan Habana gets handed another chance in the 13 jersey, a move certain to raise a few eyebrows as Habana has been regaining his form on the wing, Gio Aplon returns from injury to take his place on the left wing with Van den Heever in the  number 14 jumper.

De Kock Steenkamp will partner Eben Ebzebeth in the lock department.

  • 3 first choice players out, we can start talking when the injury list is as long as the Lions, but don’t like De Jongh at 12 he’s more a 13. Glad to see Steenkamp getting some descent game time. Stormers by 9
