Round 9 of Super Rugby sees another tough weekend of rugby matches, which does play into your hands as a punter, as the return for being on target is much greater. Head on over to the Marshalls World of Sport website and have a look at the following games:

The first game is a New Zealand derby match, and unlike the Australian derbies, should be rather interesting, with the Highlanders clear favourites here. I would not bother with the Blues in this match.

Highlanders – 5/10
Blues – 19/10

The Second Friday game, and we see some South African action in the Stormers taking on the Reds in Australia. The Stormers, can you believe, are favourites to beat the defending champions at home, and I am pretty sure they can do it. For those that like an outside bet though, nothing beats a home team that is not favourite, especially a team as talented as the Reds.

Reds – 13/10
Stormers – 15/20

Onto the Saturday games, another New Zealand derby will entertain us with the unpredictable Hurricanes hosting the Crusaders, back from their South African tour. The Crusaders are obviously favourites, but with the Hurricanes performing reasonably well, actually a lot better than most expected, I would not rule out a surprise result here.

Hurricanes – 18/10
Crusaders – 5/10

The match that nobody will even watch is when the Waratahs host the Rebels, with the Waratahs very short favourites, and the Rebels being such a volatile team, I would not even get involved.

Waratahs – 1/10
Rebels – 7/1

Finally, the Sharks are back at home, and even though they are facing the top of the table team, I am convinced they will be able to walk away from this match victorious. The Sharks are favourites, but not that short that you would not be able to make some money when they win.

Sharks – 7/10
Chiefs – 12/10

The final match of the weekend will be a bit of a one sided affair and the Bulls’ odds reflect that. I would not even waste my money here.

Bulls – 1/10
Brumbies – 13/2

Last weekend I tipped a double that was nowhere to be found, I actually had the worst weekend in all forms of tipping, getting a mere one game out of six correct. This weekend I am aiming to bounce back with a double, the Stormers into the Sharks, which will get you a return of 7/2 (meaning, for each R100 you bet, you will win R350 plus your money back).

  • My Treble came in last weekend !!

Pity I didn`t have the confidence to go high.

I`m thinking Landers, Crusaders, Bulls – 8 for this weekend.
