The Reds host the Stormers in the second match this morning, a match that could play like a bit of a final as these two massive teams take each other on, with the Reds hoping to get back on track to be able to feature in the play-offs and the Stormers looking to get back to winning ways after their first loss to the Crusaders last weekend.
The Reds welcome back Mike Harris into their midfield, and with him comes his tremendous kicking boot, that is sure to help tick along the Reds scoreboard. We also see Radike Samo back in the starting line-up, ready to take on the Stormers loosies.
The Stormers are without stand in captain Jean de Villiers, who has picked up a somewhat serious injury that will see him on the sidelines for a few months, with Bryan Habana moving into the midfield in his absence. The Stormers have also lost Andries Bekker for this game, and his experience in the second row and especially in the lineouts will be missed.

Got the Stormers by 3 😐
Go Stormers!
@JarsonX (Comment 1) :
Stormers by 2 🙄
Everybody behind the Stormers, I like!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 4) : I’m hoping for lots of tries and kicks. I have quite a few from both in my FL team.
@JarsonX (Comment 5) :
Yes please..
A nice little Gio Aplon hat trick, and lots of Pietersen kicks will suit me fine!
Habana steals the ball from the kickoff. Stormers with an early penalty. Grant going for goal.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 4) : then ill shutup 😉
@JarsonX (Comment 5) :
Oh, and a few Higginbotham tries would really not hurt either..
Grant slots it.
Reds 0 – 3 Stormers
2 mins
@Ben (Comment 7) :
Why Grant?!
I put Pietersen in my team for his kicking..
Ferguson luck is a bitch 🙄
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 9) : Samo, Horwill, H’bottom, Harris, Daley, Pieterson, De Jongh, Grant, Kolisi, Liebenberg, Koster 😛
Lane down. Looks like his cruciate ligament gone. Typical Cape flyhalf!!
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 11) : they “shared” the kicking last week too, and Grant started the kicking if I remember correctly…
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 11) :
@JarsonX (Comment 12) :
Wow!!
I have Slipper, Higginbotham, Robinson, Ioane from Reds and Bekker, Burger, Vermeulen, de Villiers, Aplon and Pietersen from Stormers
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 16) : Got Ioane, A Faiinga and Bekker as well 😆 All not playing today though 🙁
Gio Aplon try!
@JarsonX (Comment 17) :
The Stormers injuries are killing me, Burger, Bekker and de Villiers now out!
@Ben (Comment 18) :
Happy days!!
Grant converts.
Reds 0 – 10 Stormers
9 mins
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 19) : Injuries are hard on me too but the lack of tries more so.
And??
I see Harris missed a PK, same score 20 min
Harris missed a penalty 🙄
@Franshark (Comment 24) : SS updates?
Still 10-0 Stormers, 23 minutes

@Ben (Comment 30) :
Thanks Ben.. I’ll leave it to you..
Lucas having another shot at goal. Miss. Just to the left.
Peter Grant try. Stormers running from the missed penalty goal.
Grant converts.
Reds 3 – 17 Stormers
38 mins
@Ben (Comment 34) : FL Try no1 😛
Half Time
Reds 3 – 17 Stormers
Come on Reds, I need some points from you. You may still lose if you want to 😈
I nearly went with the Reds in this game.
2nd half under way..
Reds over the line. TMO
Ball knocked on. Stormers scrum.
Stormers penalty. Grant knocks it over.
Reds 3 – 20 Stormers
53 mins
C’mon Reds, Im so far behind in Superbru that only upsets will get me anywhere near respectability, that already backfired on me in the Blue game.
Go Reds!!!
Reds try. James Horwill. Stormers mess up a line out 5m from their own tryline. Threw it straight to Horwill, all he had to do is catch it and dive over. Harris converts the try.
Reds 10 – 20 Stormers
62 mins
Peter Grant is playing some good Rugga. Really impressed with his distribution. Kicking out of hand is not bad at all either. Showing some good form.
No change in the score yet.
Reds 10 – 20 Stormers
74 mins
Aplon limped off.. looks like a hamstring injury..
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 49) : Yup..
Harris having a shot at goal. Ova!
Reds 13 – 20 Stormers
78 mins
Reds to go for broke now.
@Ben (Comment 50) :
Im watching on the streaming now.. Good quality match, kak ref!
2 FL tries 🙁
High tackle on Pietersen. Stormers have a chance to stretch the gap back to 10.
In the bag for the Stormers now..
Grant slots it.
Reds 13 – 23 Stormers
FULL TIME
And I’m 2 for 2 😛
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 52) : Grant had a great game. Or ‘Grunt’ as the Aussie commentators call him.
Well done Stormers.
Having lunch now. Med rare T-bone with pap and gravy and a nice salad 😎 😛
@JarsonX (Comment 60) : Don’t forget the salad. Very important! 😆
@JarsonX (Comment 59) : Indeed. Well played Stormers.
@Ben (Comment 61) :
Stormers have this tournament in the bag. If these okes lose in the final…again… I think Capetonians might just do a lemmings march of Table Mountain.
Jeez but Steve Walsh is useless.
The Reds forwards played the ball on the ground, offside at the rucks and yet he penalises the Stormers. 🙄
So still no bonus point
@wpw (Comment 65) : And they’re just plain useless too. Skew lineouts, losing the ball near the stormers tryline, getting bullied in the rucks and mauls. Is the depth in Australia that bad that when the championship side of 2011 loses a number of players, they turn to rubbish.
“Everything that has transpired has done so according to my design” 😈
Now we just need the Sharks to come to the party.
Actually after watching the game – disappointed with Stormers attitude. You lead 17-3 and you kick for poles – instead of going for the try
The Stormers have a reasonably “easy” run from here – but they need some bonus points
