Rebels utility back James O’Connor, who went down in the Rebels’ march against the Waratahs, spent the weekend in hospital following an injured midriff and was reportedly struggling to breath.
News24.com reports that O’Connor has been treated for a lacerated liver and he will be on the sidelines for at least six weeks, ruling him out of the majority of the Super Rugby fixtures before the break for International matches.
This injury could also rule him out of contention for the Wallabies’ international matches, starting against Scotland early in June.

Lacerated Liver – awesome name for a heavy metal band. 😀
His liver probably felt like mine on Sunday after I had to drown my sorrows after the Sharks game.
@vanmartin (Comment 1) : thats good, go and register it now.
@Pokkel (Comment 2) :
That injury is commonly known as ‘Richard’s Liver’…
@Pokkel (Comment 2) : Or mine on Friday after drowning my thirst for whisky with whisky…
@Culling Song (Comment 5) :
At least the whisky was worth it….unlike the Sharks. 😀
@Salmonoid (Comment 3) : I see the Heavy Metal Names Registrar is offline at the moment 🙁
If there`s anyone else you guys would prefer to be injured for the Tri Nations just let me know.
Seems my FL team have a direct line to the injury gods . . . 👿
