News coming out of the UK is that former Sharks centre Bradley Barritt is in line for the coveted English Premiership Player of the Year award, having been nominated along with 5 others.
The former Kearsney pupil, who played for the Sharks between 2006 and 2008 has been with Saracens in the UK for the last four years and was rewarded for his consistent form over those campaigns with a regular starting berth for England in this year’s Six Nations competition earlier this year, where he showed great composure as part of a young side that managed an unexpected second-place finish.
Barritt has been nominated along with English skipper Chris Robshaw, Julian Salvi, James Scaysbrook, Mike Brown and Nick Wood. To put the finishing touches on a year that has been memorable indeed from a rugby perspective, Barritt will also tie the knot with long-time partner Giorgia Pierides next month.
Well done Brad!

Congrats Brad..
Holding thumbs for the award..
Congrats and good luck 😉
his boet also got married this year
Awaiting usual comment from Mega-doos about how this is a complete fluke and how completely overrated he is. Anyway, I’m stoked for Barrit. He was a big factor in our kick-ass team of 2007.
