It will be a case of throwing caution to the wind for the Super Rugby competition’s leading try-scorers, the Hurricanes, as they head to Hamilton to face the Chiefs this weekend. With a number of attacking stars back in action, Mark Hammett’s side will have their work cut out for them against the side boasting the best defensive record in the competition to date.

Cory Jane, Julian Savea and live wire scrumhalf TJ Perenara all return to the side this week, after missing out against the Crusaders last week; in that game, some of the gloss was take off the Canes’ good start to the season as they went down heavily to the 7-time champions. They have now lost half of their games and with the Chiefs currently 10 points ahead on the log, will know that a win here is pretty much non-negotiable in terms of getting their campaign back on track.

Hurricanes: 15 Andre Taylor, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith (captain), 12 Tim Bateman, 11 Julian Savea, 10 Beauden Barrett, 9 TJ Perenara, 8 Victor Vito, 7 Karl Lowe, 6 Faifili Levave, 5 Jason Eaton, 4 Jeremy Thrush, 3 Jeffery Toomaga-Allen, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Ben May.
Replacements: 16 Motu Matu’u, 17 Reg Goodes, 18 Mark Reddish, 19 Jack Lam, 20 Chris Eaton, 21 Charlie Ngatai, 22 Alapati Leiua.
