The final “Bok Camp” will be held this Sunday and Monday in Durban and the initial squads have to be reduced by Meyer.
Rumours that no fewer than 11 of our boys has made it into the final Bok Camp has emerged!

Whoever on this site that doubts Daniel’s ability to play at Bok level can please go get a life!! The stats are there fools.
He has over 200m of running metres gained (680m) over Spies (490m), 8 line breaks vs Spies’ 3, and 30 tackle busts vs Spies’ 25. THEY PLAY THE SAME OPPONENTS!
The same as people saying Steyn is not just a boot. He has kicked 50 times more than both Grant and Lambie. and 200m short of Lambie in running metres gained. (im not even mentioning Johan Goosen’s stats after a short season)

You need to also look at the other side of the stats and compare howmany turnovers Daniel has lost and/or penalties he has conceded compared to Spies.
IF Daniel makes this squad it is because there are so many loosies out injured at the moment.

If I was Heyeneke, and with currently available players, I’d probably choose my loosies as 6) Brussouw, 7) Alberts, 8) Spies.
Substitutes would be two out of a list of Kolisi, Daniel and Coetzee. Between them they can cover 6, 7 & 8, and are well suited for when the game opens up.

The only stat where Spies performs better is on turnovers conceded, and I would say that is because Daniel tries to play a fairly high risk off-loading game, which sometimes works as in Mvovo’s try on Saturday but also often result in a handling error.
I would say that is the only issue that would keep him out of a test team, where keeping errors down is key
I would be really surprised if any of the last 3 names on the list actually makes it to the Bok squad.

Sorry for being a party pooper, would rather have us focus on one thing at a time, like the massive game this Saturday. Hope Meyer only announces the squad after our game, don’t want the boys to get distracted with off the field stuff.
I am still quite happy with him as he does create a lot for us, so it often cancels the errors. Obviously I would like the error rate to come down
That is why I said – his error rate will keep him out of a Bok team
