The Waratahs host the Hurricanes in the second game today, with neither team having too much to play for as both have fallen too far behind in the race for a play-off spot.
The Waratahs simply cannot catch either the Brumbies or Reds to take the top Australian conference spot, which would guarantee them a spot in the play-offs, and as such have very little to play for in this match. They will, however, end the slightest glimmer of hope the Hurricanes have of reaching the top six.
The Hurricanes find themselves fourth in the New Zealand conference even though they have done reasonably well this season, and can mathematically still reach the play-offs, but that would require things going very wrong indeed for teams above them. Still, this should make for an entertaining match.
