Uncapped 22-year-old centre Jonny May has been summoned to join the English tour party as an injury replacement for Harlequins back George Lowe.

Lowe damaged ankle ligaments during last week’s win over the SA Barbarians in Kimberley and has returned to the UK for further analysis and treatment of the injury.

Coach Stuart Lancaster told the SA Rugby website, “It’s a shame for George because he had a good game against the Barbarians until he was injured. But this is an opportunity for another young player who has come up through our age grade programme and into the Saxons to gain some valuable international tour experience.”

May plays his domestic rugby for Gloucester, and has also played for Mosely in the first division. The las clearly rates himself a little, if the YouTube clip describing him as “the REAL future of English Rugby” is to be believed!
