Your weekly dose of BISMARCKNESS

While trolling the web and Twitter (as I do), I came across an interesting clip which I thought I’d share. We always say we can never get enough of Bismarck du Plessis, right?

The lovable Sharks number 2 recently signed on as a brand ambassador for the Muscle Science range of sport nutrition supplements. Have a look at the linked to hear from a range of people, including Bissie, regarding the role that these supplements play in modern sport. For those of us blessed with a y-chromosome, though, be sure to pay extra close attention to the segments where Sharks Sports Nutritionist Danielle Roberts is in the frame… Watch and you’ll see why!

  • Ok you young techies, I also need smart advice on a phone – I have recently read that Blackberry is virtually breathing its last few breaths before becoming totally obsolete and that its only the bbm and internet browsing at a good rate that is keeping them alive but that technology wise they are falling far behind Apple and Samsung and some others. Apparently Nokia in the same boat as BB. Any suggestions.

  • @Salmonoid (Comment 25) : Can’t comment personally about the Samsung, though I have a lot of friends who are super-happy with it, but what’s nice about the iPhone is that you don’t need to be particularly tech-savvy to use it well; syncing with Exchange servers, Gmail, Firefox etc is simple enough that even I can do it without IT assistance.

  • @Salmonoid (Comment 13) : Galaxy or iPhone. I broke my iPhone a while ago and started using my hubbies old Galaxy and I am converted. iPhone is nice and pretty but the Galaxy has much more function and is totally customizable. I won’t go back to the iPhone now. The Galaxy isn’t called the iPhone killer for nothing.

  • @Uli (Comment 14) : Wait for the price of the S3 to go down. The sales guy told me it isn’t worth the extra 300€ over the S2 for the little bit of extra power. The S3 is quite a bit bigger than the S2 but not quite as big as the Note.

  • @lostfish (Comment 29) : iPhone is going to have to step it up with the release of the iPhone 5, or face big market share losses to the Galaxy. What used to be their strong point (tight quality control for ensuring uniformity across apps etc) is now biting them due to the limitations on customisation it imposes on their handsets

  • @Culling Song (Comment 34) : I do not agree totally, Iphone just works out the block, where as droid phones are more customized type phones. What I do have against droid is the firmware from suppliers preloading facebook , twitter, things like that, unless you root your phone, its impossible to uninstall it. Not only is it a nuisance on the phone it self, but eats away on your battery without your consent not to mention the lack of data on current contracts. That said, droid definitely has a place in the market.
