Bulls coach Frans Ludeke has named an unchanged lineup to face the Sharks in Durban on Friday night.

Despite having Deon Stegmann fit again and available for selection, Ludeke has opted to stick with the Potgieter “twins” on the flank, with Dewald in 6 and Jacques in 7.

A 50th cap looms for hooker Chilliboy Ralepelle, whilst lock Wilhelm Steenkamp could reach the same milestone if he appears off the bench.

Bulls: 15 Zane Kirchner, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Wynand Olivier, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Morne Steyn, 9 Francois Hougaard, 8 Pierre Spies (captain), 7 Jacques Potgieter, 6 Dewald Potgieter, 5 Juandre Kruger, 4 Flip van der Merwe, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 1 Dean Greyling
Substitutes: 16 Willie Wepener, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 19 CJ Stander, 20 Jano Vermaak, 21 Louis Fouche, 22 Francois Venter

  • I wonder if the Bulls are the union with the most players on their books, because for every player another union signs the Bulls signs 5

  • @Mutley (Comment 1) : That worries me. If you look at some of the names in the U20 bok squad that are contracted to the Bulls. There is going to be some great talent coming through their ranks in the next 1 – 3 years. Watch out!

  • @Viking (Comment 2) : And some talent that will slip through the cracks and be lost to SA forever.

But we can’t blame them, the other unions must get with the program.

  • Lambie not going to start this Friday. On SuperSport they say Lambie still struggling with the ankle injury. Damn really wanted to see him playing at fh, though Fred was always going to start. So who will start at fb? Viljoen or Ludik?

  • So our chances have taken a dip with our injured players. No Alberts, Lambie or Sykes. We still could, but it will be tough now.

  • @Puma (Comment 5) : So our boys might as well go out there and enjoy the game, no use in falling apart under pressure.

And once again, we’ll look to next year’s SR – hopefully with some changes among the top brass.

  • We`re in trouble at lock and the 8,9,10 axis.

What`ll we do to counter their bokke?
