Sean Everitt has named an unchanged Sharks under 21 line up to face Border in a key away fixture this weekend.

The side got their campaign off to a reasonable start last weekend in beating Free State 31-9, but the lack of rhythm on attack and subsequent paucity of tries (only one was scored) will be a concern with better opposition still to be faced. Fred Zeilinga, at flyhalf, was in fine form with the boot and scored the rest of the points in what was ultimately a comfortable victory according to the scoreboard.

This week’s opponents, Border, are a vastly improved side these days, particularly with an influx of quality players from the former Zululand Rugby Academy now bolstering their ranks. They pulled off the shock of the season in beating the highly-fancied Blue Bulls in round one and followed that up with a great away win over the Leopards last week. The Bulls learned a harsh lesson in sending an understrength team down to East London and the Sharks will need to be on top of their game to come away with a second successive victory.

Heimar Williams again leads the side from inside centre, with former Lions Super Rugby player Wandi Mjekevu preferred to Piet Lindeque in the number 13 jersey. Lindeque is at right wing, with Western Province import Sizo Maseko on the left.
