If rumours are to be believed, the Sharks may have secured the services of a veteran hooker to do duty in the Currie Cup – on a short term basis – while Craig Burden is with the Bok squad.
The team has suffered something of a perfect storm of late in terms of number 2 options, with the loss (and subsequent injury) of Bismarck du Plessis to the Boks, followed by Burden’s call-up. To make matters worse, Kyle Cooper is currently struggling with a long-term injury and will be out of action for at least another month.
Monde Hadebe had a reasonably good debut against the Bulls last week, but did struggle a little in the set pieces, while having your first-choice under 21 hooker on the bench for the seniors is hardly a great situation either. We understand that the man the Sharks have lined up, while a little advanced in years, is nevertheless renowned for his scrumming and line-out play.
We’ll let you know more if this story is confirmed, or perhaps turns out to be spurious.

So are there no names that have been put out there?
Smitty is on board???
😆
would be great to assist our youngsters.
@sharks_lover (Comment 2) : A year older than Smit 🙂
@Dunx (Comment 1) : I’m not revealing anything until it’s certain, but if you go sniff around a bit you should spot the man in question.
quite a riddle 🙂
Please not Peter Dixon?!?!
