Word from the Bok camp in Australia is that hooker Adriaan Strauss is the only injury doubt ahead of this weekend’s Rugby Championship clash in Perth.
The Cheetahs hooker, who is also Bok vice-captain, has picked up a mild knee ligament strain and is considered doubtful for the game at this stage. Should Strauss be unavailable for the game, the Boks would presumably start with their third hooker in as many weeks, handing a first test start to Tiaan Liebenberg in the process. Sharks man Craig Burden would come onto the bench and would thus also be in line for a first appearance for the Boks.
Heyneke Meyer is apparently contemplating further changes to the team in light of the disappointment in Mendoza 10 days ago, with Ruan Pienaar mooted to start at scrumhalf ahead Francois Hougaard, who will probably replace Lwazi Mvovo at left wing.

I have always rated Liebenberg but he’s become such an arrogant **shole of late. I don’t like the idea of him starting at all. He’ll be worth a good couple of penalties for the Aussies!
Tiaan Liebenberg is an arrogant prick who complains to referees while he is always busy with hair pulling, slapping, stamping, shoving… No, he is not a good example of what a rugby player should be like. Just give Burden a chance.
Wish list: Frans 15, Pienaar 9, Lambi 10, JdV 12, JdJ 13……..
@Franshark (comment 3) I like your thinking – and would give up my game of golf to watch the game. If Kirchner or Morne playing I’m not available and will be on the 1st tee come kick
off
Burden from nowhere to springbok hooker, what a rise it would be.
😈 Bad choice. Liebenberg can not scrum and is ill disciplined! Burden is on form! Easy selection choice. 😈
I still prefer Liebenburg over Strauss
At least Liebenburg thinks e’s a hooker and not a flyhalf
He should link well with the locks and he showed in the S15 that he can perform the fetcher role if required….
