The Sharks welcome back Craig Burden and Lwazi Mvovo for this weekend’s clash with the Lions in Johannesburg. The pair, who have had limited game time with the Boks, with Burden an unused player in both all three matches he has been in the squad, can finally get some game time.
All players who were not part of this weekend’s match 22 against the All Blacks have been released to their respective Currie Cup teams, which mean the following Unions will get the following players back:
The Sharks – Burden & Mvovo
The Bulls – Jacques Potgieter & Jano Vermaak
Western Province – Frans Malherbe
The players who did not form part of the match 22 and are not released are Eben Etzebeth, who is banned from rugby for this weekend anyway and Pat Cilliers, who is injured.

So the most rugby Lambie will see this series is Touchies for warmups?
Heineken better start with Lambie in the next test!
no Lambie? WTF
Noooooooooooo, with Burden back the Sharks chance of winning doubled
Go Sharks!! 🙄 😕
If Lambie once again only plays 5mins for the Boks…If Meyer is planning on starting Lambie, it is fine not releasing him, but as frustrated as he must be right now, giving hom 80mins of playing flyhalf for the sharks would have been perfect, for him and for the sharks!
I think they should release the players in dire need of rugby. That being the bench players too. Lambie , goosen & liebenberg, de jongh need more game time & a round of currie cup would help even if just for 40 mins. But you can just see it on Lambie’s face he is becoming extremely unhappy with what is happening around him.
Mvovo and Burden are nice additions 😎
How about they just release Heyneke Meyer back to the Bulls 👿
Mmmm Mvovo and Burden against the Kittens…..YES PLEASE!!!
Glad to have ’em back. Wish Pat had been released as well. Challenging Splinters Shimange’s bench record very soon. Just needs some game time.
How can Jebb Sinclair escape without any further sanction and Tyrone Homes only gets a one match ban!
For Punching!
So now WP had the ref, two assistant refs, TMO and now Siting Commissioner on there payroll….
Anyone know when JP is back?
sharks better watch that Lionel Mapoe…he is scintilating form right now and you know he cut you up @ Ellis Park in Super rugby..
just be careful. 😛
@Riaan? Kittens? Bitch please… Very rich coming form a Quuens supporter, don’t you think?
I believe it is going to be a mouth watering affair on Saturday… The two teams always make for scintillating ruggas!
CJ vd Linde is ready to take the bench (unfortunately), Jaco Kriel has recovered, Elton shook off a minor bump But Hendrik Roodt is out for atleast 5-6 weeks…
Gone be a gooood one!
@Megatron (Comment 13) : this is why I’m backing Timmy to start at 13 ahead of Tollie…
@Megatron (Comment 13) : Meg can you see yourself saying that about your team during the s15 next year??
@CLASSIC SHARK (Comment 16) : fortunately the Lions will be playing Vodacom Cup next year 😆
@CLASSIC SHARK (Comment 16) : Classic Shark with a “classic” reply 😆 no kittens in Super Rugby next year…
With Mvovo and Burden back the average pace of the Sharks team just went up a whole lot. I sincerely hope that Lambie gets a start in place of Kirchner or M.Steyn… at this stage I really don’t care who he replaces, as long as he plays!
@Megatron (Comment 17) : meg are you megapissed again dude, I meant are you going to be warning other teams about the dangers of visiting your team during next years s15 just asking?
@Die Kriek (Comment 8) :

@CLASSIC SHARK (Comment 19) : You gotta admit though, it’s gonna take something really special for the Sharks to win on Saturday…
