A trio of experienced players will return for the Blue Bulls this weekend as they aim to lift themselves off the foot of the Currie Cup log by beating Western Province at Loftus.

Brenden Nel of SuperSport has confirmed that Bok hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle has recovered from the knee injury that ruled him out of the inaugural Rugby Championship (and thus opened the door for craig Burden to carry tackle bags for six weeks) and will come into the selection frame this weekend. He’ll be joined by Bok bully Dean Greyling, whose ban for a cynical hit on Richie McCaw in Dunedin has now lapsed and winger Bjorn Basson, whose various injury problems are now firmly behind him.

While the Bulls are currently down, they’re by no means out and good wins against Province and the Lions in their last two matches could still see them qualify for a semi-final spot.

  • It will be a gamble to include these players in the starting 15 besides the arm bull basher of greyling
