Sharksworld’s Currie Cup Team of the week is brought to you by LaLuxe B&B –

Only two weeks of rugby remain before the semi finals. The Sharks and the Lions both took victories from their games to create a little more breathing space between then and the rest of the competition. Six points separate the third placed WP with the Bulls at the bottom of the log and even though they need only one more victory to secure a semi final spot, they will have to ensure that they take that victory against the Bulls at Loftus this weekend, as any slip could put them in a difficult spot in the final week of round games.
This week our three winners shares the numbers in our team, as per usual, with the Lions having 5 players in our team and the Sharks and Cheetahs 4 each. WP and Griquas gets 1 and the Bulls miss out completely.
15. Louis Ludik
Even in the worse of conditions Ludik stood out as the best Fullback.
14. Nico Scheepers
His goal kicking and taking pressure of the shaky boot of Ebersohn has been important for the Cheetahs.
13. Lionel Mapoe
His looking comfortable in his new role at centre and deserves the call-up he got from the Bok selectors.
12. Meyer Bosman
Although his kicking was wayward this week, his performances in the midfield continues to impress.
11. Raymond Rhule
What an exciting player, slicing and stepping through the defence with his blistering pace.
10. Sias Ebersohn
He still needs to get his full confidence back, but with a little more consistent game time he’ll get there.
9. Cobus Reinach
A young scrumhalf with great potential, just what South African rugby needs.
8. Keegan Daniel
Continues to deliver his best.
7. Jaco Kriel
Another promising loose forward.
6. Marnus Schoeman
One of the best fetchers in this competition.
5. Franco van der Merwe
Rarely ever delivers a bad performance.
4. Micheal Rhodes
Back from an injury and getting back to some of his best form
3. Frans Malherbe
A solid performance from the youngster.
2. Callie Visagie
He is growing in his role at the Lions.
1. Mercel van der Merwe
Gets involved everywhere on the field and he can play on both sides of the scrum.
