The Bulls have named their side to face Western Province in their final home Currie Cup game of the season and are bolstered (at last) by the return of Bok wing Bjorn Basson, after a number of false starts.

Basson comes in at left wing for Clayton Blommetjies in the only change to the backline that featured against the Sharks last week. Up front, the withdrawal of flank Arno Botha due to his somewhat unexpected Springbok call-up has opened the door for young Jean Cook to start for the first time, in the number 7 jersey.

A late call will be made as to which of Morne Mellet (who played last week) or Dean Greyling will start at loosehead prop. Both players have been bracketed in the position.

A final change to the match 22 sees the long-awaited return of Chiliboy Ralepelle, who is now over his knee injury. He takes over from Bongi Mbonambe in the number 16 jersey, with the latter returning to the Bulls under 21 side this week.

Blue Bulls: 15 Jürgen Visser, 14 Akona Ndungane, 13 JJ Engelbrecht, 12 Francois Venter, 11 Bjorn Basson, 10 Louis Fouchè, 9 Jano Vermaak, 8 CJ Stander, 7 Jean Cook, 6 Dewald Potgieter (captain), 5 Franco Mostert, 4 Wilhelm Steenkamp, 3 Werner Kruger, 2 Willie Wepener, 1 Mornè Mellett/Dean Greyling.
Replacements: 16 Chiliboy Ralepelle, 17 Frik Kirsten, 18 Grant Hattingh, 19 Warwick Tecklenburg, 20 Ruan Snyman, 21 Lionel Cronjè, 22 Ulrich Beyers.
