The Sharks came through the Cheetahs encounter fairly well, according to a report on SharksRugby this morning, with the only serious injury being that of Pieter Dixon, who broke his arm early in the match.
Dixon, as expected, will not take any further part in the 2012 Currie Cup season following his break, and it is expected that we will not see Dixon don a black and white jersey again, unless he is recruited beyond his current Currie Cup contract.
With the return of Craig Burden from the Springbok setup, and the performance of burly Kyle Cooper in this weekend’s match, Dixon was going to have a hard time getting game time anyway.
There were a few bumps and bruises, but no other player seems in doubt ahead of this weekend’s clash against Griquas, a match that could see the Sharks host both a semi-final and hopefully a final the weekend after.

Tough break for Dixon. I hope the arm heals fully and well and that he enjoys his retirement.
I think we owe him a massive thank you for coming out of retirement to help the Sharks out for the Currie Cup and he certainly didn’t do his reputation any harm.
