The last round of Currie Cup action continues as we head down to Newlands, where Western Province host the Cheetahs, in a winner takes semi-final spot match.
WP coach Allister Coetzee has not held back with the selection of his returning Springboks, and who blames him with so much on the line. This team now sees a healthy mix of youth and experience, but one has to wonder what the effect of all the changes will be on the fluency of this team.
The Cheetahs have also selected all of their Springboks with both Coenie Oosthuizen and Adriaan Strauss featuring in the starting line-up, with Coenie selected on the tighthead side of the scrum, in his new preferred position.
Should be a cracker of a match, so hold onto your seats.

@JarsonX (Comment 2) : Kings had 40% possession and played 62% of the game in their own half. Sadly, the Bulls are going to kill them.
Why do I want to punch Cheeky Watson in the face?
well done to the kings for winning the first division, unfortunatly for them they will get klaped in the promotion/regulation match
@klempie (Comment 4) : I don’t think the Bulls will lose today.
@JarsonX (Comment 7) : Come on dude. Think positive!
@klempie (Comment 8) : Did you see the Lion’s line-up? I’m being realistic but I will be supporting the Lions nonetheless.

I wonder how low will the Cheetahs have to go before Naka gets dropped.
And a diabolical decision by tmo, Bekkers, was not a try. And looks like Kaplan trying to ensure wp a victory.
“Should be a cracker of a match, so hold onto your seats.”
The only thing cracking here, is the Cheetahs’ defence 😈
Is it just me or is WP one of the most boring sides in the modern game? 🙄 After the brain-numbing performances in Super Rugby now we have to sit through this… Snore zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Wake me up when it gets interesting, please. hehehe 😆
Please tell me Vermuelen is always illegal when pilfering the ball. Are you you allowed to go over the ball on your elbows…………..
@Shaz (Comment 34) : Heya Shazza. They’ve been using WP games as a sedative in old age homes for quite some time now
Super Sarel injured, subbed.

PROVINCE 36 – 15 FREESTATE
John Mitchell made a good point on this week’s Reunion… Said that because Australia has too many teams in Super Rugby the mediocre players have lowered the benchmark for the good players (ie: the Wallabies)and made them mediocre too. It’s a well known fact that by playing better opponents mediocre players improve their game. This is why it is essential to have Springboks playing in the Currie Cup as much as possible. Otherwise the whole competition is going to go down the pan, and with it the unions who rely on it for their income. We are never going to consistently produce world-beating talent if we dumb our provincial competition down like this. Not only is it boring to watch but it’s slowly killing the game.
@JarsonX (Comment 55) : Thanks man! Best bet would probably be next two weekends.
@Shaz (Comment 58) : Agree. And they should dump all the provinces into 1 competition as well.
