Griquas wing Jannie Boshoff has been cited for a driving tip tackle on Sharks centre Paul Jordaan.
The incident happened shortly before half time during Friday night’s Currie Cup clash at Kings Park. A decision was taken between the referee and assistant ref who both saw the incident happening in real time and Boshoff was duly yellow-carded. However, TV replay shown immediately after the offence made it pretty clear that it was well within the red card threshold. Why ref Jaco Peyper didn’t ask the TMO to have a look – since that seems to be the default thing for any ref in any situation nowadays – is beyond me.
Citing Officer Deker Govender duly cited the player for an alleged contravention of Law 10.4 (J) and Boshoff will appear before a SARU disciplinary hearing at 6pm today.

Just very glad Jordaan was not seriously injured.
SA rugby need to sort the whole ref thing, some refs is really bad and nothing is done, even some tmo calls is wrong but nothing is done to them.
@JD (Comment 2) : I agree fully
Let’s burn them
