We reported a few weeks back that Western Province had given young loose forward Nick Koster the green light to enter into (or perhaps) continue contract negotiations with Bath in the UK.
The west-country club has duly confirmed that these negotiations have been successful, meaning that Koster will join them as soon as possible. Once touted as “the next big thing” in WP rugby, a combination of injury and positional uncertainty have thus far stilted Koster’s career and a fresh start in a new environment might be just what he needs to rediscover his lust for the game.
In other news, though, Province Currie Cup captain Deon Fourie has finally closed the door on rumours that he will depart for Toulon in France at the end of the season, according to Beeld’s Stephen Nell. The hooker-cum-flank has been linked with a switch to the Riviera for quite some time, but yesterday confirmed that the move won’t happen and that he’ll stay a Stormer next year.

I still think Koster has a lot of potential. Maybe a stint in a different environment will do him good.
Great news having Fourie stay on.
How’s he gonna captain the Boks from Bath?
@Big Fish (Comment 3) : 😈
@Clayton(PJLD) (Comment 2) : One thing you can always count on from SA Players: when the talks with overseas clubs have wound down and that player decides to remain in South Africa, he always says: “I would never leave my beloved province, my blood is blue/hooped/black/red etc”
WHATEVER bru, you’d be on the first plane out the country if the offer was good enough…
Don’t like fourie a lot. Would play liebenberg at 2 as he’s a way beter hooker.
@JD (Comment 6) : Fourie is at 6, not hooker. Scarra at 2.
