Sharks winger Rosco Speckman, who had a very successful 2012 rugby season, has signed a deal with the Pumas starting next year.
Speckman told Sharksworld that he has signed a contract that will see him join a Pumas side that is coming together quite nicely. They will be playing in the Vodacom Cup early next year in preparation for the Currie Cup B Division later in the year.
Speckman won the Interprovincial Sevens Player of the Tournament over the weekend, helping the Sharks lift the cup, while also being part of the Club Championship winning College Rovers team earlier in the year.
Speckman made his Sharks senior side debut this year during the Currie Cup, and has been part of the Sharks setup for the last few years, regularly featuring in the Vodacom Cup and junior sides.
It seems that Speckman played himself into a contract with the Pumas following his good performance during the Club Championship, where Kobus de Kock also proved his worth and landed a contract with the Lions.
We would like to wish Speckman all the best with his new team.

Good luck to him! He is a real talent, but with 3 Springbok wings ahead of him, he made the right choice for his career
All the best. Probably the right career choice for him.
Big loss for the Sharks 🙁
Good luck Rosco! I rate him highly but unfortunately he’s probably 3rd or 4th in the pecking order at the Sharks so it’s a good move by him.
jimmy stonehouse will make Speckmagic shine!
So we all agreed then, with 3 or 4 springbok wings ahead of him, it’s probably the right career choice?
Does anyone know if Piet Lindeque is staying? If he’s moving as well, the U21 Sharks will suffer in the wing department.
Another huge loss. Odwa is nearing retirement and Sithole is not performing as expected. Sharks should stop recruiting grand daddies and hold onto the young ones by giving them more gametime with the seniors.
We lost Mark Richards last year, who seemed to be a good prospect.
Unless we are banking on Emil Schwarz successfully returning, we are indeed looking short for wings. I suppose there is Mjekevu, and with Prinsloo, either Ludik or Viljoen can cover out wide. Lambie to wing? 😈
We have Pietersen and Mvovo on the wing during Super Rugby but we need some depth. Richards might return next year but apart from him, we need some more wingers. Ndungane won’t be playing 30 matches a year, Mvovo and Pietersen are not able to play the full 80 every week, Sithole is not good enough, Speckman is off to Pumas… Maybe we should sign Le Roux
