Morné Steyn has been linked with a move to Stade Francais, in the French Top 14.
According to a report on the French Le Rugby Nistere website, Steyn met with the club’s management in the week leading up to the England test match.
Steyn played a few minutes in the Springboks victory over Scotland, after spending the previous week on the bench as an unused sub, before being dropped from the match 23 for the England match.
A move to France might be exactly what Steyn needs after bursting onto the Springbok scene in 2009 and going on to play in consecutive matches all through to the start of Heyneke Meyer’s tenure as Bok coach, where he has fallen from grace with a string of poor performances.

interesting indeed. Might be good for him.
At least the Bulls have a perfect clone to replace him with.
The powers-that-be should offer to throw Jacques Potgieter in for free if Stade Francais acts now while operators are standing by…
@Culling Song (Comment 3) : I second this motion
@robdylan (Comment 1) : Where did Jacques Louis Potgieter go after his stint with the Sharks? I think it will wake him up to a new dimension of flyhalf play.
What a relief to see it`s Morne and not Frans !!
I’m on my knees praying that this will become reality as I’m typing this.
They must be looking for something far less consistent than their rugby ball machine for catching practice – Morné can kick the ball all day long, in fact, I do believe that is all he’s good for – so he’d be perfect for the job. 😆
Why so negative people? I love watching Morné play for the Bulls!! 😈
@Pokkel (Comment 9) : That is very true 😆
@KSA Shark © (Comment 7) :
Amen brother.
@Pokkel (Comment 9) : lol
@VinChainSaw (Comment 11) : No wait I’m not finished praying yet.
Shouldn’t effect his role with the boks,meyer loves his overseas based players
@Argex (Comment 5) :
He is currently playing for Bayonne.
@Poisy (Comment 14) :
There you go .. dashing my hopes ..
i guess it just wasn’t meant for me to be happy …
@Here be dragons (Comment 15) : and he’s loving it there… I chatted to him the other day.
@robdylan (Comment 17) :
Glad to hear it! There are a fair few old internationals around there, quite an interesting squad.
Ja well yes…….. meyer ill love morné in SA, France, any where even in America and Japan. morné can go play for any team as long as it’s not for the Sharks.
I think Steyn has a contract with the Bulls until the end of 2013.
@JarsonX (Comment 20) : And with Victor as their new attack coach, kick and chase will be pursued with renewed vigor
