Baby Boks coach Dawie Theron has opted to make a few changes to his team that Peter de Villiers’ UWC team 65 – 7 last week, for the clash with Maties tomorrow morning.

Theron’s hand was forced with three players, fullback Cheslin Kolbe, centre Justin Geduldt and wing Seabelo Senatla, who have returned to the Springbok Sevens squad for the resumption of the Sevens World Series next week.

Six changes were made to the team, with prop Justin Forwood coming into the front row in place of Sti Sithole, flank Ruan Steenkamp moving from eighthman to give Roelof Smit a chance at the back, meaning that Albertus Smit loses out.

In the backline, JP Lewis, Sylvian Mahuza and Tim Swiel fill the spots left vacant by the Sevens players. This will be the last match for both Jan Serfontein and Handre Pollard, who will return to the Bulls Super Rugby squad after this match, meaning the final match against UCT will see a new flyhalf and inside centre combination.

The SA U20 training squad’s starting line-up against Maties:

15. Tim Swiel
14. Luther Obi
13. Sylvian Mahuza
12. Jan Serfontein
11. JP Lewis
10. Handré Pollard
9. Hanco Venter
8. Roelof Smit
7. Jacques du Plessis
6. Ruan Steenkamp
5. Marvin Orie
4. Irné Herbst
3. Luan de Bruin
2. Jacques du Toit
1. Justin Forwood
