Good work, UKZN! The much-maligned KZN Varsity side is sitting pretty at the top of the Varsity Shield log after two matches.
Bearing in mind that we have to go back as far as 2011 to recall the last Impi win in this competition, the string of results over the last few weeks has been remarkable; not only did tey beat Fort Hare in their opener in Martizburg, last night they beat the once-mighty TUT Vikings in their own Pretoria back yard.
It’s a team hardly bristling with stars – Sharks under 19 centre Gareth Meikle is about the only “big name” – but the Impi seem to have found the secret sauce this year and are well on their way to becoming the sort of force in Varsity rugby that we’ve always hoped they could be.
Keep up the good work, boys.

It was so great to see my old varisty in a form of varsity cup & even better to watch them win. Where are they situated in PMB or Durban?
@Dunx (Comment 1) : pmb. the durban side is just stuck here
Yip. My daughter is studying law there and her digs is right behind the rugby field. 😆
