We’ve found out that local boy Stu Berry will be holding the whistle when the Sharks take on the Leopards at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg this evening.
Berry, one of the finest of a new(ish) generation of up-and-coming referees, was forced to sit out the tail-end of last season, after an horrific arm injury sustained in a car accident. He hasn’t been on a rugby field in some five months, making tonight’s game a significant, albeit low-key, one for him.
Welcome back, Stu! Good to have you back where you belong.

Welcome back. Just too bad Supersport isn’t broadcasting this, or the next warm up game for us, instead every other SA franchise gets 2 broadcasted warm ups each!
@Die Kriek (Comment 1) : I agree, but then again, I would have probably just kicked up my lazy boy instead of going to woodburn tonight haha 😀
Some of us don’t have the means to do that, so I would have liked to watch the game on TV. Thank you BiasedSport!
@Die Kriek (Comment 1) : Supersport knows to reserve those two slots for the Semi and the Final 😉
The other teams won’t use theirs
