The Lions Challenge match scheduled to take place next weekend, between the Lions and Namibia, has been cancelled.
The Lions were scheduled to play Namibia in Windhoek, but instead have four weeks off before facing French club outfit Mont de Marsan. No reason was given for the sudden cancellation of the match.
The Lions will look to get back some of their injured players before this match and deciding on a tour group to take on the United States for three weeks.

Cheeky prob paid Nam to stay away…
didn’t take long for the dream to die
@robdylan (Comment 2) : the dream?
Lions know they always disappoint on their away matches . . . 😈
Namibia’s rugby has been in the trouble since the RWC and the boardroom shenanigans round that time. 2011 was also the last time they played Vodacom Cup.
“The NRU’s executive committee however resigned en masse barely a month after their return from the World Cup, after their relationship with local clubs as well as the International Rugby Board had broken down to the extent that the IRB had stopped all grants to the NRU.
Namibia was also relegated to Division 1B of the Confederation of African Rugby Cup after failing to turn up for the finals of the CAR Cup in Nairobi.”
“Meanwhile, the NRU announced that they will not compete in the 2013 Vodacom Cup due to a lack of funds. ”

It seems the game against the Chicago Lions is also off. Their web site lists them as playing in crossover playoffs (not sure what that is) on the weekend of 27 April.
Both Rugby Canada and USA Rugby confirmed the matches against the North American All Stars in Irvine, CA and Vancouver on 13 and 20 April
Ahw. Pity, Nam needs the practice and exposure to keep developing.
According to Variety Sports the NRU withdrew because their players haven’t started training yet and are therefore not in condition to play.
