There’s contrasting news for two men in direct competition for the Bok number 6 jersey, with Cheetahs opensider Heinrich Brüssow receiving a boost after spending nearly six months on the sideline.
According to coach Naka Drostke, Brüssow is expected to return to the side for next week’s encounter against the Chiefs in New Zealand – an earlier return than was previously anticipated. He won’t however, be ready to take on the Sharks in Saturday’s opener.
Stormers counterpart Schalk Burger hasn’t been quite so lucky, though. After almost a year away from rugby due to a knee injury, Burger has now been ruled out for an additional month after picking up a calf problem in training. He’ll return to the side, at the earliest, after their fourth-round bye.
Drotske has further confirmed that both flyhalf Johan Goosen and prop Coenie Oosthuizen are expected to be fit to face the Sharks.

Must say I am glad we don’t have to face Brussow in Bloem. He has always been a thorn in the Sharks’ side
dodged a bullet there brussow is trouble
but how will Goosen hold up? the two should come off the bench to assist with their comebacks.
I have a bad feeling that Schalk might end up the same as Juan Smith. It seems as though he just keeps getting injured before finally having to retire.
