The Cheetahs have received a welcome boost ahead of their opening Super Rugby clash against the Sharks on Saturday evening, with news that both Coenie Oosthuizen and Johan Goosen will be fit to take part in the match.

While Goosen has been rested to fully recover from a troublesome heel, he is set to be named to start the match with Piet van Zyl likely to be his halfback partner.

Coenie Oosthuizen has been suffering with neck and back problems and even though he has been taking part in scrum practises, he will only make his appearance off the bench.

The Cheetahs will look to get their Super Rugby campaign off to a winning start against their bunny team, the Sharks, before embarking on their four week tour to the Antipodes.

  • Coenie won’t make the season without an injury.
