Ouch, poor old Jaco Taute will miss out on the Stormers’ second-round Super Rugby clash against the Sharks, after taking a hit “to the groin” against the Bulls last weekend.
The on-loan Lions fullback won few plaudits for his game at Loftus and would in all likelihood have lost out to Joe Pietersen this time around anyway, due to the latter’s goal-kicking ability.
A number of other Stormers players suffered knocks, but appear likely to be cleared to play this weekend, including prop Pat Cilliers (concussion) and scrumhalf Nic Groom. In addition, Juan de Jongh returned to training after suffering a hamstring injury in pre-season and may come into the selection frame this weekend, depending on how he goes tomorrow.

Typical Bulls. Going for the sphericals.
@McLovin (Comment 1) : Sour Grapes? lol
The Stormers were SOOOO poor on Friday night. I expected so much more from them. Taute was anonymous and they really only started playing when the game was beyond them.
Their lineouts were abysmal. Think Fourie was making a point that he wants to play flank and not hooker? 😉
@Uli (Comment 2) : Crushed grapes
Alister Coetsee just confirmed that Taute is in hospital with a bruised testicle.
@Salmonoid (Comment 5) : 😯 Bruised baubles sounds painful.
Ag shame. But hey it shows he atleast got one.
@McLovin (Comment 6) : Much, especially if he needs to sleep over in hospital.
They should have Spies checked out, looks like he’s been playing without a pair for a few seasons now. 😈
Spies owned your whole scrum on Friday night. 😈
I believe the sharks will face a much improved stormers side this weekend. We will have to be at our best and continue the momentum build.
