Jake White has lured another Australian international back to Canberra, after getting his paws on David Pocock in the off season and now getting Clyde Rathbone back on the field of play, White now has the legendary George Smith in his ranks as well.
Smith, who left the Brumbies when he retired from international rugby to play in France and subsequently in Japan, has returned to the Brumbies on a short term Super Rugby contract, and will start training this week in the hope of being fit enough for selection in time to face the Bulls in round 7.
Smith has just led his Japanese club, Suntory, to the All Japan title and returns to the Brumbies to add to his 128 Super Rugby caps.
White commented that he is bringing a winning culture back to the Brumbies, by bringing players back that know what it feels like to win in a Brumbies shirt, and hoping the experience will rub off on the youngsters.

How old is Smith now? Great player back in the day.
@SteelShark (Comment 1) :
32 turning 33 in July.
Throw Mowen in at eighthman (very underrated player who should have a few test caps already) and you have a deadly loose trio.
wow. unbelievable that he is only 33. when you think of smith, you think of joe roff and owen finegan etc. Legend
glad we play the Brumbies in Durban this year, all I’m saying
White is sticking to his recipe for success. The brumbies is looking good and my money will be on them to top the Aus conference this year.
@Richard Ferguson (Comment 2) : Thought he was like 35 already 😈 @robdylan (Comment 5) : I agree 😛
