Sean Everitt’s Sharks XV got their Vodacom Cup campaign off to a great start at Kings Park this afternoon, recording a 72-6 win over an outclassed Border Bulldogs team.
Initially, the Bulldogs did a reasonable holding job, restricting the Sharks XV to just three tries as the hosts took a 27-6 lead into half time. The visitors were unable to trouble the scorers again, though, with the Sharks XV scoring a further seven tries in a one-sided second half display.
It was a clinical performance form the Sharks XV, but they know that the opposition they’ll face in the Vodacom Cup is only going to get better.
Scorers:
Sharks XV
Tries: Fred Zeilinga (2), Tyler Fisher (2), Sizo Maseko (2), Gows Prinsloo, S’bura Sithole, Heimar Williams, Hanco Venter.
Conversions: Zeilinga (8)
Penalties: Zeilinga (2)

Well done boys. Let’s hope this flows over into tomorrow’s game
@juba_fan (Comment 1) : if we win 72-6 tomorrow, I’ll be a happy man.
I’ll be more than happy. Hope to see some good running rugby. Wanna see Carlos Spencer’s influence
Anyone else notice the halftime and fulltime score of the Sharks are transposed?
I know, it’s sad…. 😛
@McLovin (Comment 4) : wow…. that’s, um… amazing 🙂
That’s the way to go Sharks!!!!!
Ok just got home after a great bunny chow at Britannia hotel in Durbs.
Excellent match, the youngsters showed great skill and fitness in the heat.
Ungerer and Fisher had super debuts, at 13 the Sharks now have 3 super stars and trhey all 3 very young, Fisher and esterhuizen arew huge lads, Fisher is surprisingly very fast
And believe me the Sharkies could have scoured at least another 6 tries that went abegging
@sharks_lover (Comment 9) :
Scoured = scored
@robdylan (Comment 2) : I dunno… One-sided contests can become dreary. I’d like us to get 5 log points and score tries, but I want EP Kings to show some resistance as well. Maybe I just have a soft spot for them
Change the Border to the Kings and you have today’s score
