Sean Everitt’s Sharks XV got their Vodacom Cup campaign off to a great start at Kings Park this afternoon, recording a 72-6 win over an outclassed Border Bulldogs team.

Initially, the Bulldogs did a reasonable holding job, restricting the Sharks XV to just three tries as the hosts took a 27-6 lead into half time. The visitors were unable to trouble the scorers again, though, with the Sharks XV scoring a further seven tries in a one-sided second half display.

It was a clinical performance form the Sharks XV, but they know that the opposition they’ll face in the Vodacom Cup is only going to get better.

Sharks XV
Tries: Fred Zeilinga (2), Tyler Fisher (2), Sizo Maseko (2), Gows Prinsloo, S’bura Sithole, Heimar Williams, Hanco Venter.
Conversions: Zeilinga (8)
Penalties: Zeilinga (2)

  • Ok just got home after a great bunny chow at Britannia hotel in Durbs.

Excellent match, the youngsters showed great skill and fitness in the heat.

  • @robdylan (Comment 2) : I dunno… One-sided contests can become dreary. I’d like us to get 5 log points and score tries, but I want EP Kings to show some resistance as well. Maybe I just have a soft spot for them
